Customer feedback is an important aspect and an ingredient to your business’s success. It is the feedback you get from your customers or website visitors about your work, products and services, either positive or negative. Let me now share how you can receive your customer feedback and use it to grow your online business.
Do You Receive Customer Feedback?
Well, there are various ways of getting feedback on your business. They include recommendations, surveys, testimonials, comments, questions, customer behaviour and information about your best or worst selling product or service.
Importance of Feedback From Your Customer
Let me first emphasise the importance of the feedback you get from your customers and website visitors. Apart from keeping yourself aware of what your customers say about your business, it also helps you learn how to influence them and attract more customers.
Secondly, knowing how much others value your products and services helps you to boost your confidence. You develop a good feeling and become proud of your business. Even where you are not doing well, it can help you know what you are missing and how to make your business more attractive to your customers.
Getting customer feedback is one of the critical aspects of your business on which you should focus. It’s, therefore, recommendable to put in place a system that enables you to gather and evaluate information regularly.
However, most businesses in Uganda disregard this vital aspect. Believe me or not, it is one of the causes of the collapse of many companies.
For instance, I know of a bar that has collapsed in the suburbs of Kampala because the owner does what he feels is suitable for him but not what his customers want. This bar started so well with many clients because it was the only decent place the residents in that area could go. He made a lot of money. With time, other good bars cropped up, and each bar was targeting the same clients.
Some customers started complaining about loud music. These customers were mainly grown-up men and women. They regularly asked him not to play loud music, and he refused. What happened is that they found their way to other bars. When you go there now, you hardly see more than five customers.
How Do You Get Customer Feedback?
There are various ways through which you can get customer feedback. I have mentioned a few above. Have a clear strategy in your business through which you get customer feedback. And everyone in your business should be aware of it. They should know it and also implement it.
For instance, I gather information by reading through the comments submitted on the articles I post on this business blog. I find these comments useful because they provide me with hints and helpful information that I always use to improve and make my business more attractive to people.
When I started this blog, I received numerous comments about my inability to make any money with my excellent content and how my site was not ranking high in the search engine. I received many business offers from mainly SEO experts, and some of them went ahead to analyse my website in various aspects. Using the same information, I discovered what I could do to make my blog visible and optimise my pages. This approach, in turn, helped me to improve tremendously in those areas. You, too, can use the customer feedback to advance in your weak areas.
How Do You Handle the Customer Feedback You Get?
Blog CommentsOne thing I have always taken important is that I respond to the comments posted on my blog. This practice enables us to keep a rapport with our audience or customers and adds value to our website.
You need to engage your customers to give information by asking them. When asking them, you need to guide them through the kind of questions you ask so that you can get the rightful information.
As you look for feedback about your business, you should focus your mind on what people buy or want to buy. Secondly, focus on their expectations and what is essential to them with your service delivery. Thirdly, focus also on what frustrates them. With that background knowledge, you can ask them questions that will attract the rightful information. The challenge you have is to learn how to ask questions that will bring out the proper customer feedback.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would like to remind you that knowing what your customers value about your business is helpful because it enables you to create your marketing messages, brand, list of attractive benefits, website and many other marketing messages.
