The pot lampshade is a unique nice-looking lampshade design Goleza Designers Ltd has recently added to their product line. This elegantly designed lampshade depicts the image of a handmade clay pot, a social tool deeply entrenched in the Ugandans’ ways of life.
Traditionally, clay pots were essential tools in any family with various uses. They were, indeed, multi-purpose. Our grandparents used them to fetch and store water. Since they had no modern fridges, clay pots served as fridges to keep drinking water cold and with a pleasant taste. They also served as cooking utensils. If you have ever tasted pot-cooked beef, you may not want to eat any more beef cooked in modern cooking utensils.
Even in modern times, clay pots are still visible in many communities in Uganda, with people using them to serve various purposes. At Goleza Designers Ltd, we chose to promote this traditional useful tool by crafting a custom wooden lampshade with a pot design, which we have named the pot lampshade.
The Goleza pot lampshade, like our other handmade wooden lampshade designs, produces a striped shadow on the ceiling and walls as well. It’s eco-friendly because we craft it from local wood, a natural material. Our standard size is approximately 27 cm high and 29.5 cm wide. But since they are custom-made, we adjust the dimensions according to what our customers want.
